Short Story Design
long time no post....
I have started a side business creating wooden peg dolls of people I love and I wanted to share that with all of you (even if there may just be one person reading this right now)
When I first created them, I just wanted to give my daughter E a doll that would help her learn the stories and lessons of the Book of Mormon. I created Lehi's family and Samuel the Lamanite so that I could teach her about courage, faith, resilience, and being guided by the Lord. I wanted her to be able to grow up knowing the Book of Mormon stories and understanding that she herself can have experiences just like Nephi and Lehi and Samuel the Lamanite.
I also created a doll representing Jesus Christ so that she could learn about what He did when He came to the Americas. I wanted her to know that He loves all His people not just those in Jerusalem. I wanted her to know that she can rely on Him and trust in Him.
And in creating all these dolls, I realized I wanted those I love and care about to have the same opportunity to teach their family and children about these principles.
I have created these dolls to help tell the short stories of our lives and realizng that I wanted other mom's to have the opportunity to teach their children their short stories, Short Story Design was born.
The name Short Story Design came because I love the idea of a short story. A short story has all the power of a normal story but in a smaller design. I love the morals and the amount of impact that a short story can carry. I felt that the dolls I made could carry the same impact.
I hope that as you look at my etsy page: www.etsy.com/shop/shortstorydesign you will be able to find some dolls that you can use to tell your own short stories to help teach your children (or future children ;))
Thanks for your support!
Love, M
xoxo
